Christmas photography

Hello!!
Today I want to talk about a Christmas photography idea that I found last year, but have since got a better camera so I decided to play around again this year.
I have a feeling that I saw this idea on facebook just one of those posts that float around. Here is one of my attempts at this;

This isn't my favourite photo but it outlines the idea of having the Christmas tree lights extending towards you, which is the aim. The technique I used to get this effect is to set your camera to multiple shots and zoom in and out; I found this easier with my SLR camera. If you have a preferred setting for lights that can take multiple shots feel free to use this. I just used the automatic setting and auto focus.

I found that the more you try this technique the easier it is to master and it takes heaaaaps of shots to get the right one!
Here is my favourite photo of the shoot I did.

The camera that I used is the canon EOS 1000D with a canon EFS 18-55mm lens.

Christmas bedroom decoration ideas!

Hi guys! :D

Today I thought I would talk about how I have decorated my room for Christmas this year. I am really into Christmas and I like to decorate my room as well as the living room. I do not have a lot of money so I have improvised with some decorations.

My favourite colour is pink, no matter what shade just pink, this has led to the Christmas colour theme of my room being pink and silver.

I bought myself a small fake 60cm green Christmas tree for $2 at the warehouse, I have placed this on my desk which is at the corner of my room. I decided to put it here as it is out of the way but still close enough to make my room festive. I managed to find a set of pink decorations for $8 also from the warehouse, this set included 6 small baubles, 3 sparkly pink ones, 3 metallic pink ones, and 3 shiny pinks one. Also included was a long but skinny piece of pink and silver tinsel and 2 metres of a pink ball garland. I have cut the tinsel in half as there was too much for my little tree so the half that I haven't put on my Christmas tree I put around the edge of my desk where the tree is. I also didn't put the garland on my tree as I seemed enough with the baubles and the tinsel, so I have stuck it on my door outlining the top with some hanging down in the middle. For the tree topper I found a small silver sparkly star for $2 at the warehouse.

In tradition I have a small red stocking with a white b stitched on the front hanging on the door knob beneath the ball garland, after adding this I decided that the middle of my door was quite bare and that I wanted a wreath to put up. I went on a search for a pink garland to no luck, so off to Pinterest I went to find a tutorial on how to make myself one. The tutorial I decided to use was one where you get a metal coat hanger bend it into a circular shape and wrap around some tinsel, I of course chose pink tinsel to do this.

This is very minimal decoration but your bedroom is completely decorated ready for Christmas!
I hope you enjoyed this mini post about my Christmas decorations, please let me know what you guy want me to post about or even let me know how you've decorated your room for this Christmas :)

Until next time, be happy, and stay gorgeous :3 xxx

My workout routine!

Heeey :)
Today I thought that I would share my workout routine with you! Now before I start I want to clear up that I haven't been told to do these exercises nor are they professional I have just read about some things and started to do them.

Every morning before I get dressed I do:
30 Crunches
- Lie on your back with your knees bent with your feet on the ground or tucked under something. Place your hands at either side of your head lightly touching, crunch up towards your knees pushing your feet down so they stay on the ground. Breathe in as you crunch and out as you release.

20 leg lifts, on each side
- Lie on your side, your head leaning against your hand. With one leg on top of the other raise the top leg as far as you can, hold for 5 seconds and release. That is one.

20 bicycles
- Lie on your back as you did with the crunch with your hands in the same place. Raise your legs slightly off the ground and hold them there. As you crunch up pull one knee towards your chest, as you crunch down push the leg back, that is one. Alternate legs and do 20, this equals to 10 each side.

30 squats
- Have your feet flat on the ground shoulder width apart. With your back straight extend your arms horizontally in front of you. Bend your knees and go down as if you were going to sit on a chair, make sure your knees don't go over your toes, push back up to be standing straight. That is one.

Then in the afternoon I go for a 2.5km walk up a nearby hill. If it’s raining I have an Exercycle so I will do 5km on that.

As I stated I am no health expert so I have no idea if this works it’s just what I do! Keeping that in mind I still do hope that you liked having this insight into my workout routine.

School Essentials!

Hello :)
I decided that i would write a list of the things that i keep in what i call my emergency bag which i keep in my school bag also what i keep in my school pocket (my uniform only has one pocket!!). My friends at the start of the year did mock my emergency bag but they all used something out of it and that to me is a win :)

Mine is just a small zip up bag and it fits perfectly in the little front pocket of my school bag the things that are inside are:
- Girl things! I am not going to explain what this is but girls i'm sure you know what i mean. I keep these in a smaller zip up back just for extra secrecy. These are useful for obvious reasons and if your friend needs one you will always have one spare.
- A dry shampoo. These are soooooo handy if you have sport and need it or if your hair is just a bit flat and lifeless it can change that with a quick spray.
- A small black and brown eyeliner. I found this super handy as i occasionally went out after school and it can help transform from school to out and about. Also i had quite a rough year so i was crying heaps and it was so good to be able to fix your eye makeup to look less like you've just been crying.
- A little hairbrush. I have this super cute little flip out one that has a mini mirror on it. I don't think i would've lived without this, you can use it if you need to put your hair up because its bugging you or just to quickly go through your hair to fix it.
- At least two hair ties and some bobby pins. I just through these around the hairbrush so as i said if you need to change what your hair looks like or you need to fix a bit you can.
- A body spray. I don't do any sport or p.e at school so i don't use an antiperspirant at school only in the morning so i just take a body spray incase i want a little spritz.
- A small pack of tissues. I find that all classes don't have tissues in them and you never know when you need one.
- Hand sanitizer. I have been through too many experiences of touching someone's gum that they have put under the desk so having this in your bag to be clean is a live saver.
- Sunscreen. Seems weird but you never know when you need it.
- Plasters. Again who knows when you need them.
- Panadol. I get bad migraines and cramps so panadol on me will be so helpful. Remember to keep it in the packet incase teachers see it, having the packet makes it easier to explain.
- At least 2 spare pens. Self-explanatory.

Now for in my skirt pocket.
- A packet of gum. Great for after eating or if you are self-conscious of you breath as i am constantly.
- A lip balm. I get really bad chapped lips in particular when its windy so i keep a lip balm close to me at all times.
- My phone. I read on my phone and just for security i need it near me.
- My keys. Self explanatory haha

Those are the things that i keep in my school bag and my pocket to survive school. You obviously need your school books, planer, lunch all those important things too!

Until next time, Be happy and stay gorgeous :3 xxx

My morning routine (before school)

Hey Guys!
Today i want to talk about my school morning routine like the order i do things in, what makeup products i use, how i do my hair just all those general mundane things of my morning. Mostly focussed on my makeup.

My school is a uniformed public school that you aren't allowed to wear makeup (yes I'm naughty i do) the school day starts officially at 8.40am and most buses arrive after 8.20am, i get driven in by my mum before she starts work at 8am so i get to school at about 7.55am.

6.40am - My first alarm goes off, i am super bad at getting up in the morning haha. My first alarm is on my alarm clock which is about 2 metres away from my bed meaning i have to get out to turn it off, i then get back into bed.
6.50am - My second alarm goes off, this one is just on my phone which is on my bed so i just turn it off haha, after this one goes off i normally go on facebook on my phone and check what happened during the night.
7.00am - My third alarm goes off and i finally get up! I now do all the things that I'm not going to go into detail like go to the bathroom ect. I will also have my breakfast and a glass of soy milk then brush my teeth and wash my face with just cold water.
7.10am - I go back into my room and get into my school blouse, skirt and socks. Before i get dressed i will normally put on music, i find this gets me into a good mood before school so i really recommend it. If you have other people in your house that are still sleeping just have it quiet enough that only you can hear it and if possible have it playing from your phone or ipod but without a speaker, this makes it easier to have it quieter and if you move around your room you can take it with you.
7.20am - I will now sit at my duchess and start my makeup. If i have any spots i'll put on clearasil ultra rapid action pimple cream.
- First thing i put on my face is moisturizer; olay complete uv protection moisture lotion for sensitive skin, this may not be the best moisturizer out but it's cheap lasts ages and does the job. I work this in with my fingers.
- Next is concealer i use the rimmel wake me up concealer, i put this under my eyes to cover my dark circles, around my nose, on my nose, between my eyebrows, under my lips and a little on my cheeks. This gives me a full cover as i am quite insecure about how i look and it gives me a confidence boost. i work it in with a artiste professional creme blush/bronzer brush.
- I then put on a tinted moisturizer; neutrogena healthy defense daily moisturizer with a light tint. I use this as it doesn't clump and go cakey throughout the day and because i'm not actually allowed makeup at school it gives a more natural look. I blend this with a thin lizzy brush, not the best brush again but it does what i need.
- I use a australis fresh and flawless pressed powder in the shade Deep Natural just to set my makeup slightly. I really like this powder as it is easy to apply and doesn't go cakey over the day. To put this on i use a artiste professional stippling brush.
- At this stage i put on a lip balm; Tui Lip Balme. I really like this as it is completely natural, made from beeswax and it works miracles i swear. I put it on now as i have finished my skin makeup and i will move onto eyes before lips so it gives a chance to set in before i do my lips.
- Onto eyes, i do a very natural eye look that i feel makes them look better. I use a lancome Le Stylo eyeliner in the colour 301 Amethyst. I just do this lightly on my waterline. Then i use a thin lizzy brown eyeliner on my waterline in the outer corner very lightly. I then blend the two together with the blendy thing on the end of my lancome eyeliner. I will quickly use my lacross eyelash curler to lightly curl my eyelashes, i do this because i frequently get my lashes tinted blue black so i don't need to use a mascara.
- If my eyebrows are looking slightly sparse i will use the same brown eyeliner to fill them in slightly and brush them through with an eyebrow brush.
- Back to my lips i use a very light covering of Elizabeth Ardens number 25 Starlight just to give slight colour to my lips.
7.40am - Time to start on my hair! I sleep with my hair down so i'll just comb through it and comb the front pieces back and pin them, this allows me to be looking down at my books all day without having hair in my face. If i feel like it i will go through the pieces that are down with a flat iron to set them. I don't do much to my hair in the morning as i shower at night and if i feel like it then i will straighten it fully before i sleep which makes it easier to handle quickly in the morning.
7.50am - I pack my lunch before i got to sleep so i just need to get it out and put it into my school bag before i leave. Last five minutes before i have to leave i will put my school jumper on, my shoes and i will use a spray either a perfume or just a body mist then out i go :)

I hope this was interesting and gave you some insight into how i manage things before school.

Until next time, be happy and stay gorgeous :3 xxx

OOTD - Going to see Mockingjay part one

Hello guys :)
So last night i went to see mockingjay part one, it was amazing is all i can say I have read the books and it was quite close and was a good representation. But as i was going out and i take any excuse to dress up i decided to do an OOTD for you guys. As i live in the southern hemisphere it is the end of spring although it seems like summer already, my outfit is quite summery and the movie was kinda early. I apologize that i don't have any prices for these items as i have had them for a while and some were gifts.

Here is my outfit!!

I wore
- A singlet from Glassons-everyday basics and it is just a normal pastel pink singlet in a small size.
- A garage floral skirt. The flowers have pastel pink, green and yellow within. I have paired this with a skinny black belt just to accentuate my waist.
- A switch white cardigan, just incase it got colder after the movie which it did.
- Black Style Express wedges. I absolutely love these, they are just so comfortable and i can wear them for ages at a time.
- My bag a debut bag, or thats what it says on the tag. I got it as a gift but I'm pretty sure its from the warehouse which is a big department store here in New Zealand.
- An owl necklace. I got this as a gift also so i don't know where it is from but it is silver with slight black detailing. This necklace is so easy to change the length as i did for this outfit.
- Black Sunglasses. These are from glassons, i love the shape of them as there is a slight cat eye flick on the side which helps to give my face more shape than just round. I think it is essential to have a pair of black sunglasses as you can pair them with most outfits.

I did just a natural makeup look because the weather is getting hotter and i prefer to not wear too much makeup when it is hot. I did my hair in a bun using a hair donut to get the shape.

Here is the finished look :)

I hope you enjoyed this kind of post please give me some feedback of if this is something you would like to see more of or any requests for outfits for different occasions ect.

Until next time, be happy and stay gorgeous :3 xxx

A wee introduction

Hello :)
This is going to be super cheesy but i thought i would do a wee introduction of myself just to start off.

My name is Kary said like Kerry, but my parents decided to be annoying and spell kary after the small village Castle Cary in England, they changed it to a k as my older sisters name starts with a c. I am from the south island of New Zealand  have lived here my entire life well the entire 16 years of my life haha.

Over last summer so the beginning of the year i got really into beauty gurus on youtube such as: Zoella, Sprinkle of Glitter, Tanya Burr, Anna Saccone, CutiePie Marzia, Emma Blackery (boxes of foxes), Grav3yardgirl (bunny), Niomi Smart, and Shaanxo. These beautiful women have been a huge inspiration to me. Before i watched any of them i attempted makeup but never a full face of makeup or blending properly ect but after learning the basics i have an understanding of that and i am attempting more complicated makeup looks and to just expand my abilities.

I have gotten more interested in fashion over the past year also learning what works best for my body shape, colouring and all that is involved in the fashion side of things. I really want to try and do OOTD's and other fashion related things as to get feedback from other people and maybe some advice or maaaybbbe give some advice myself.

I am really interested in photography, being involved in a local photography club. I have entered into small competitions around my area and i have won money through this. I am eager to talk to other people about photography to learn more techniques and all that jazz.

As i am 16 i'm in the middle of school still but getting to the end of it which is stressful as i have to make decisions about the rest of my life and take exams. Just all the normal teenage drama's so i want to voice some of the ways i deal with school, life, family, friends, relationships, being judged.

I hope this very quick intro gave a basic idea of me and the things that i am into and i want to learn more about. These are the four main things that i hope to be posting about so if that's what you're into come and join me :D

Until my next post, be happy and stay gorgeous :3 xxx
